TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A giant corpse flower (Amorphophallus) having 60-cm diameter and 70-cm height is blooming in Waas Hamlet, Bojong Village, Karangtengah District, Cianjur, West Java, Antara reported.
The flower has been spreading around smelly odor since the past few days, especially in the afternoon. The flower blooms on Feri Fernando’s (26) yard.
“It’s not the first time this flower blooms on our village. However, the one grows on Feri’s yard is bigger than previous flowers,” said Uca (45), a resident.
According to Uca, such flowers have been blooming in her village annually, despite the efforts that had been made to clean up the spots where the flowers had grown.
