TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Attorney General H.M. Prasetyo said that the resolve of human right cases have not become the main focus of the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla's administration yet.

In a meeting between Jokowi-Kalla with Head of High Courts all over Indonesia, he said that the President’s directive were not yet directly to the resolve of human rights issues.

“He said that our focus is not there yet. It’s not that it’s not urgent but there are stages to go through. We discussed so many things,” Prasetyo said after a meeting at the Bogor Presidential Palace, Friday, November 28, 2014.

Prasetyo also said that resolve of the cases related to the violation of human rights cannot only be done by the Attorney General office but also by other institutions.

He further said that the cause of many human rights cases that remain unresolved are probably because the elements that are required in the resolve of a case are not complete yet.

Furthermore, Prasetyo said that one of the obstacles in the dealing with human right cases is the difficulty to find the witnesses and the perpetrators. He also said that the government did not want to in a hurry in resolving human rights cases without enough evidence.
