Kim Yo-Jong Assumes Govt' Official Position
Jumat, 19 Oktober 2018 18:39 WIB
TEMPO.CO , Pyongyang - The governent of North Korea has appointed Kim Jong-un’s sister, Kim Yo-jong as the Vice Department Director of Workers' Party, as reported by KCNA news agency.
Kim Yo-jong, 26-year-old, made her first public appearance during the funeral of her father and longtime ruler Kim Jong-il in December 2011.
Observers have speculated that Kim Yo-jong may end up playing the same leadership supporting role as her powerful aunt, Kim Kyong-hui, who was a close aide to Kim Jong-il for decades. Yo-Jong is the only member of the Kim family that has a position in the North Korean government.
Yo-jong was accompanying her brother on a trip to a cartoon film studio founded by their grandfather, Kim Il-sung. During the visit, Kim Jong-un urged animators to produce works that are "true to the intention of the party," KCNA reported.
