President Jokowi Starts Sumatra Visit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) along with First Lady Iriana Widodo arrived at Merak Port, Banten, to commence his visit to several provinces in Sumatra.
The president and his entourage arrived at the port at around 9pm local time, Antara News reported.
Several ministers from the ranks of the Labor Cabinet who received a presidential arrival at Merak were Transportation Minister Ignatius Jonan, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, and Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.
The president and his entourage will cross Sunda Strait from Merak to Bakauheni using Port Link III Boat with crossings scheduled at around 9:45pm from Merak.
The roll-on roll-off ship has a capacity of about a thousand passengers and 250 vehicles, both four-wheelers and two-wheelers.
The Port Link III Boat will take about one to two hours to reach its destination.
In Lampung, President Jokowi is scheduled to conduct a blusukan (impromptu visit) in several areas such as plant Sabalang, PT Bukit Asam (Persero), PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero), and Sentra Padi district, Central Lampung.
While in Bengkulu, the president is scheduled to visit the Traditional Market Panorama, Central Post Office, and a fishing village.
