TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said that government would immediately issue a Presidential Regulation on the ministries with new names and on the those merged from several ministries. The regulation, he added, is made as the legal umbrella for the institutions and the operation budget of ministries and institutions.
"It is expected that those ministries could immediately work,” Andi said on Friday, November 7, 2014.
Andi cited Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Villages, Transmigration and Development of Underdeveloped Regions as examples.
The measure, Andi said, is made so that the ministries could use the budget that has been allocated in the current State Budget.
Andi further said that President Joko Widodo hoped that the ministers would cancel projects that have not been implemented until the end of October 2014.
"Thus, budget will not be wasted in the next two months,” Andi added.
The spending, he said, should be cancelled as it will not be completed until the end of 2014. He also said that the cancellation is better than implementing projects in a rush and with a bad result.
