TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Aftersaying it has opened the doors for European Union's investigative team to visit the country, North Korea now threatens to drop recent offers of visits by United Nations' human rights officials unless a UN resolution on the country removes any reference to the International Criminal Court before Saturday.

North Korean diplomat Kim Un Chol told The Associated Press that Stavros Lambrinidis, an official with the EU, will visit North Korea in March next year.

The UN has not commented on the threat. But an EU official in Brussels early this month confirmed that Lambrinidies had met with a North Korean representative.

Based on an inquiry early this year, the UN human rights commission has held North Korean leader Kim Jong-un accountable for human rights violations. The latest EU-Japan resolution even stated that the UN Security Council must refer North Korea's human rights cases to an International Criminal Court.
