TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - North Jakarta Mayor, Heru Budi Hartono, will take strict actions against headmen, village leaders or head of sub-offices who are less productive. Currently there are three headmen who will be receiving special evaluation.

“There are three headmen that are not worthy. Village leaders are still doing okay,” Heru said in a statement on Tuesday, Oct 28. However, Heru is reluctant to mention the names of the headmen.

Heru says he wants to revolutionized one generation of sub-office chief who is currently in the midst of serving the position. Many of the subbordinates are elders and approaching retirement. Their performances are not too productive. “Still with the same routine, they come to the office and do nothing. This one generation that should be cut. I want to look for young people,” Heru said.

Heru said there are still many of his subordinates who often run away from their duties. For example, a headman says he/she is going out of the office for a field work, but is in fact trying to go away for personal purposes. There are also some that say they are going to a meeting in the provincial government, but turns out they did not attend the meeting. “Don’t think I didn’t notice it, we’ll just see [the sanction] later,” he said.
