TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Anti-Drug Agency (BNN) yesterday carried out another crackdown on Universitas Nasional (UNAS) to battle drug users at the campus located in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta.
BNN Spokesman Sr. Commissioner Sumirat said the search began from 2 pm until 5 by deploying sniffer K9. As a result, the police found one role of marijuana (ganja).
"The marijuana was found around the cafeteria and one bong (a tool to smoke crystal methamphetamine or shabu-shabu) and the pipe at the campus hall. The police also found three grams of ganja near the cafeteria," Sumirat said.
"BNN may not have found drugs in large amount but it shows that some students still take drugs at this campus," Sumirat added.
For the record, in August this year, the police conducted a similar crackdown on the campus and found at least five kilograms of ganja, five grams of shabu-shabu, and a number of guns.
The findings then prompted the campus authority to tighten security at the campus and freeze the students' activities.
