TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Time magazine is featuring president-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo on its Thursday issue, October 16, 2014 ahead of Jokowi's presidential inauguration slated for Monday, October 20, 2014.
Jokowi is seen on Time 's cover in a close-up picture, wearing Indonesian traditional clothing batik with his eyes staring somewhat seriously.
"A New Hope”, the cover writes, was followed with "Indonesia President Joko Widodo is a Force of Democracy".
The article depicts Jokowi as a humble figure despite being elected as the next ruler of Indonesia. Time begins its article on Jokowi with a story when the former Solo mayor blended with the people on his flight to Solo, opting to take an economy seat onboard national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia a while ago.
