TEMPO.CO, Surakarta - Indonesian athletes with disabilities are shceduled to compete in the 2014 Asian Para Games in South Korea on October 18 to October 24, 2014.
Senny Marbun, Chairman of the Indonesian Paralympic Committee, said that there are five sports that would yield medals for Indonesia; badminton, weightlifting, swimming, table tennis and athletics.
"We have many athletes that can win gold medals in those sport branches," he said on Monday, Ocotber 13, 2014.
A total of 75 athletes will strive to achieve the targeted 15 gold medals, which will make Indonesia into the top ten position.
In the previous Asian Games 2014, Indonesia sits on the 14th position. Senny hoped that there would be improvement as Indonesian athletes can excel in Asian Para Games.
Youth and Sport Minister Roy Suryo promised that the government would provide a bonus for athletes who managed to win medals, but refuse to say the exact number because it would be decided by the new government.
"We have included [the bonus] in the State Budget, but the decision is up to the new government," said Roy.
