TEMPO.CO, London – The Three Lions continued their winning streak at New Wembley, London, as they trashed San Marino 5-0 in the second group match of Euro Cup qualification.
England skipper Wayne Rooney scored a brace with Phil Jagielka, Danny Welbeck, and Andros Townsend contributing to the other three goals.
Jack Wilshere, speaking on a post-match conference, said that the players “knew they were going to win.” He added that once a goal was scored—an opener by Jagielka in the 25th—others would come along.
The victory at Wembley puts England on top of the table with six points in two matches. San Marino, on the other hand, remains at the bottom with no score nor point.
