TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD Jakarta) secretary Mangara Pardede said the council had received the resignation letter of Jakarta Governor-cum-president-elect Joko Widodo. He added the letter was received by DPRD Jakarta speaker Prasetyo Edi Marsudi on September 2.

“I have received it yesterday afternoon from the council speaker,” Mangara told reporters on Tuesday, September 30, adding that he had received an order from the council speaker to book a venue to discuss the letter.

Mangara said the discussion was slated to take place today. “There will be a leadership meeting this afternoon to discuss Jokowi’s letter,” Mangara said.

According to him, the meeting thus far had yet to decide as to when Jokowi would officially step down as the capital’s governor and was still focusing on the procedure. Mangara, however, stopped short of detailing the procedure.
