TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – West Jakarta Police spokesman Comr. Herru Julianto said 34 policemen who have been punished for abusing illegal drugs would return to duty beginning October.
"They will return to duty after undergoing intensive physical training for a month," he said.
Herru added the policemen would be under supervision and random urine tests. "Random urine tests are done to prevent them from consuming drugs," he said.
Herru said if the policemen would be sent to rehabilitation facilities if they were again caught consuming drugs. He explained the rehab process would be carried out for a month to eliminate their addiction to drugs.
In September, the police received a hint from a drug dealer on cops who purchased crystal meth. After a series of random urine tests, the 34 policemen tested positive for illegal drugs.
