TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo admitted that many investors and business owners he met complained about permit issues that have been hampering the economic growth.

“The central government has prepared a one-roof service integrated service. We are planning to make the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and investment permit issuer to be under one roof,” Jokowi said in Jakarta on Thursday, September 18, 2014.

Jokowi explained that the permit issues will become one of his priorities. Therefore, Jokowi will instruct an institution that will handle the permit with one-stop service concept, just like his program in Solo.

Jokowi envisioned that investors will only have to appeal for the permit at only one institution. They, Jokowi said, would not need to deal with several ministries to have the permit. Jokowi admitted that he received a report from an investor who wanted to build a power plant. The investor said that he had to wait for two to six years to have the permit.
