TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Askolani, the director general of budget at the Finance Ministry, said the ministry had adjusted the official travel expense standards for state officials and civil servants. “There are standards for expenses for each activity, but not limitations,” he told Tempo on Thursday.
In the Finance Ministry’s regulation, the standards for all ministries are the same while the volume is decided by each ministry or agency. As for the Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kala Transition Team’s findings on several suspicious budgets in the 2015 draft state budget, Askolani declined to comment, saying he had yet to see the data.
“I’d rather not make any comments to avoid saying the wrong things,” he said.
According to the Transition Team’s findings, the suspicious budgets in the 2015 draft state budget include maintenance expenditure at Rp31.168 trillion, domestic travel expenditure at Rp35.196 trillion and overseas travel expenditure worth Rp2.786 trillion.
For domestic travel, the details include regular travels at Rp15.513 trillion, city official tripexpenditure at Rp1.356 trillion, official meeting package in the city expenditure at Rp6.245 trillion and official trip outside the city at Rp11.938 trillion.
