TEMPO.CO, Bilbao - Athletic Bilbao have spoiled their return to the Champions Leaque when they were hold to a 0-0 draw by visitor Shakhtar Donetsk in their Group H clash Wednesday.
The game held in the new San Mames Staduim was interesting to watch, where both teams created lots of efforts and the host should have had the lead.
Bilbao finished fourth on last season’s Spanish League and performed their second appearance in the Champions League Group stage, which was their first since 1998/1999.
The club, coached by former striker Ernesto Valverde, trained the club to play in the highest level even though they only used players from Basque.
Group H is also joined by FC Porto and BATE Borisov, and the Portugal team recorded a spectacular star when the Belarus team was beaten 6-0 on Tuesday.
