TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama has urged the Public Works Ministry to finish the third phase of Tanjung Priok toll road’s W1 section in six months since the opening of this toll road would be an alternative access for vehicles coming from Cikampek and Cakung-Cilincing toll roads.

With this toll road, vehicles will no longer have to go through inner city toll road to go to Tanjung Priok Port. "This is related to distribution of goods. This toll road will really help," said Ahok yesterday.

The target should not be facing land acquisition issue like what happened in the first and second phase since the 2.36-kilometer section is located on the land of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II without many buildings on.

North Jakarta Mayor Heru Budi Hartono said the Jakarta provincial government would meet with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as the lender to review and approve the road construction in order to have it executed soon.

Regarding the land acquisition, the connecting segment of the first and second phase in Kali Baru, Koja can be used starting 2015. The Jakarta government decided to pay Rp12 million per square meter even though the North Jakarta District Court ruled in favor of people’s lawsuit of Rp35 million. "We lodged an appeal on September 1, 2014," said Mayor Heru.
