TEMPO.CO, Surabaya – Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar has been re-elected as the National Awakening Party (PKB) chair in the party’s recent Muktamar (national assembly) this year. Muhaimin was a sole candidate in the election.

The assembly, which was packed by the party’s branches across the nation, has appointed Muhaimin as PKB chair and K.H. Aziz Mansyur as the party’s head of consultative council, locally known as Dewan Syuro.

“Let’s build a community and collective intent that are inseparable from any of the party’s elements. There is no A, B, Syuro’s, or Tanfidz’s (executive board) decisions. All are collective decisions that should be carried out,” he said in his speech at Empire Palace in Surabaya, Monday, September 1, 2014.

Muhaimin added that the best dedication was that with no strings attached. “What is measured now is work, work and work,” he said.

Muhaimin secured the party’s top seat for the third time with the first in 2005 and the second in 2008.
