TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - UEFA Champions League drawing in Monaco last night has put several top clubs facing each other in the upcoming Champions League campaign. Premier League Champion Manchester City will take on Bundesliga Champion Bayern Muenchen.
Muenchen and City will repeat last season’s group match, in which Muenchen ruled over its English counterpart. Overall, the Bavarians are slightly ahead with scoring semifinal in three seasons in a row. City, on the other hand, only made it to the second round last season.
Another Premier League club Liverpool will also take on a set of rather difficult opponents, defending champion Real Madrid and giant killer FC Basel. Only Chelsea, out of four Premier League clubs, face a less hostile set of opponents.
