TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Children expert Seto Mulyadi, stated his concern on the new 2013 curriculum, claiming that the curriculum is lacking in subjects that encourage character development. "I am afraid that [the curriculum] will give birth to future psychopaths...", said Seto, who often referred to as 'Kak Seto', in a press conference.

Kak Seto mentioned that the 2013 curriculum must include subjects that help to develop the right part of the brain. "We need to balance [the cirriculum] with right-side brain activity such as arts and sports," he said.

He added that through arts and sports, children can develop discipline, humility, and sportsmanship. "I fear if our education system does not facilitate such basic character development, more people will be psychopaths," he said. "Early character education, both from the school and family, is needed so that children are not [easily] frustrated."
