TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muhammad Taufik, Head of Regional Representatives of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) of Jakarta, said that he has reported several news agencies to the Press Council and the Indonesia Broadcasting Committee (KPI). Taufik said that his side was blamed over the reports that cited him of planning to 'kidnap' the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Husni Kamil Malik.

"I have reported [the news agencies] to the Press Council and KPI," said Taufik. Taufik mentioned that there were three news agencies listed in his report: Metro TV, Detik.com, and Tempo.

Taufik said that he reported the three agencies because of the reports that accused him of planning to 'kidnap' Husni Kamil Malik. He argued that in his oration, he only mentioned to "get", instead of "kidnap".
