TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tens of models were seen practicing their catwalk at Pool Area Java Paragon Hotel earlier this week. The models were getting ready for the 2014 Asian Fashion Week that is going to be held at Ciputra World Surabaya starting from August 15 to 18.
Asian Fashion Week’s Media and Public Relation Coordinator Debbie Katherine said there will be 40 female and 20 male models participating in the international event.
“There were 233 in the audition and 60 selected models,” said Debbie to Tempo.
On the event date, the Indonesian models will be on the runway together with 10 international models from Peru, Honduras, Japan, Paraguay, Russia, and India. All designers and models of 2014 Asian Fashion Week will be welcomed by Surabaya mayor Tri Rismaharini in a dinner at Surabaya town hall on August 14.
Under the theme of “Bridging Culture Exchange Globally”, there will be 40 designers from 20 different countries gathered to enliven the event. Indonesia is going to be represented by designers like Rhy Surya, Nofna Veronica, Anyta Poernomo, Yunita Kosasih, and Sisca Design.
