TEMPO.CO, Surabaya - The Surabaya Zoo (KBS) predicted that the number of visitors during the Eid holiday will reach a total of 102,000 people. "We predicted that visitors from the first day of Eid until the seventh day will reach 102,000 people," said Agus Supangat, Head of KBS Public Relations, yesterday.

The zoo informed that 4000 visitors were recorded to visit the zoo on Monday, July 28, 2014. Agus said that the increasing number of visitors will take place on the second and the last day of the holidays, which expected to record at least 10,000 to 12,000 visitors.

Agus said that the second day of Eid holidays is usually spent by people to visit tourism sites. "On the first day they usually visit their friends and families," said Agus.

The total number of visitors to the Surabaya Zoo is targeted to increase by 10 percent from the same period last year. In 2013, the total number of visitors during Eid holidays reached 93,170 people. Agus is confident that the target will be achieved because the zoo has been revamped and renovated by the Surabaya District Government, which now manages the zoo.
