TEMPO.CO, California - Apple planned on releasing the beta version of Mac OS X 10.10 to the public on Thursday, CNET reported. The company unveiled the latest operation system (OS) in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), San Francisco.

In addition to the new look, refined toolbar, new notification-center features, and a dark mode, Yosemite will now synchronize with Apple's iOS mobile operating system through AirDrop file-sharing, iMessage messaging, and the ability to make and take phone calls.

Yosemite is focused on connectivity by the provision of new feature called "Handoff" that allows users to transition from whatever they are doing on one device onto another. It also has personal assistant application that enables users to report bugs found on the software.

"All in all, they come together for a gorgeous and more usable version of OS X, the best ever," Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, told developers at the conference.

To try the Yosemite, you must first sign up for Apple’s beta program and activate through the given link. Designtrend wrote that Beta version of Yosemite will have no update available.

"Users are advised to back up their data as trying out unfinished software is never entirely safe," Designtrend reported.
