TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said he would consult with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono regarding the government transition. According to Jokowi, president SBY was transparent in discussing the transition and would meet him after the Lebaran holiday.
“Of course we would consult with Pak SBY about the criteria of personnel to fill the positions in the cabinet,” Jokowi said at the City Hall on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
The former mayor of Solo explained that Yudhoyono had contacted him after the presidential election results were announced by the General Elections Commission (KPU). He added that SBY congratulated him and was willing to help him during the transitional period.
Jokowi revealed that his team would also meet with Yudhoyono to ensure a smooth transition. Jokowi also said that he would be involved in drafting the 2015 State Budget.
“Pak SBY said that he would be transparent in discussing the State Budget for 2015,” he said.
