TEMPO.CO, The Hague- Dutch investigators confirmed on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 that data from the cockpit voice recorder, or commonly known as the black box, belonging to Malaysia Airline flight MH17 airplane was not damaged after being in possession of pro-Russian separatists.

"The cockpit voice recorder was damaged but the memory module was intact. Furthermore no evidence or indications of manipulation of the cockpit voice recorder was found," the Dutch Safety Board (OVV) said, as quoted by The Star website.

The OVV said data from the voice recorder had been successfully downloaded and handed over to the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) in Farnborough, southwest of London.

"Tomorrow [Thursday, July 24, 2014] the team will start the examination of the flight data recorder. This will show whether this recorder also contains relevant information, in which case the data from both recorders will be combined," OVV stated.
