TEMPO.CO, London - Chelsea are confident in scoring their former savage striker Didier Drogba. The Ivory Coast International, now 36, has just finished his contract with Galatasaray and now is enjoying his post-world cup holiday.
Drogba, despite being considered as an old player, remains a hot discussion topic during the transfer window. Chelsea even face lots of strong contenders, such as Juventus and MLS Clubs. However, sports media predicted that Drogba is likely to return to West London, especially because the request came from his former boss Jose Mourinho.
Mou, during his first employment with Chelsea, signed Drogba in 2004 where he rose as one of Premier League top goal scorer, scoring 157 goals from 341 appearances. Before leaving the club in summer 2012, Drogba even scored a Champions League Victory for Chelsea.
Sports media has noted Chelsea for being active during this summer transfer window. After signing Diego Costa from Atlético Madrid, Mou claimed that he still needs more strikers, particularly because Demba Ba and Eto'o are leaving.
