TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Halim Perdanakusuma airport in East Jakarta is ready to accommodate the surge of the number of passengers during this year’s homecoming season.

The airport is estimated to see around 6,000 passengers every day during the season.

"We are ready to serve homecoming travelers for the first time for this year’s Eid Day," said Head of Halim Perdanakusuma airport Operational Service Division Ibut Astono Friday.

The figure is the estimated maximum number of seats provided by Citylink airline operated at the airport.

"There are 17 departures and arrivals from and to Halim Perdanakusuma airport," Ibut said, adding that it would accommodate domestic flights serving destinations such as Yogyakarta, Semarang, Palembang, Malang, Denpasar and Medan.

The airport had set up a special post during homecoming season to be available on July 21 until August 5. "We are going to provide a 24-hous service for the travelers and the post will be located at the center of the airport’s terminal."
