TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vicente del Bosque has said he wants to remain as the Spain coach until 2016 despite his failure at FIFA World Cup campaign.

Spain entered Brazil 2014 as a defending champion, yet Del Bosque's ageing squad were thumped 5-1 by Netherlands in their first match and and 2-0 by Chile in the second match.

"I've been in contact with the federation (RFEF) while I've spent some time away from it all and the six years of success far outweigh two poor games," Del Bosque said as cited by Sportal.co. In his career, Del Bosque has won two prestigious titles: World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012.

Despite having seen seasoned players appeared off the pace at the World Cup, Del Bosque insisted he would not make huge changes to his squad in preparing for Euro 2016 campaign.

"We mustn't make drastic changes, just continue on the same path and tweak the odd thing," he said.
