TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party executive board chief, Indra J Piliang, said Golkar is ready to coalesce for the large or slim coalition. Based on the internal recapitulation, Golkar secures 90 seats in the parliament.

"Golkar can already proceed in presidential election with those seats because the required seats are 112. Regarding the candidate, we will discuss with other parties," said Indra yesterday.

Golkar will likely build a slim coalition for presidential election, Indra said. If the party cannot win in one round, they will try to win in the second round.

Golkar is currently on an intense communications to form coalition with Gerindra, PKS and PAN and has declared support for Prabowo Subianto, the presidential candidate from Gerindra.

"For PDI-P, we have told Jokowi [PDI-P presidential candidate] that Golkar would form coalition in the parliament. So there are coalition for the government and coalition for the parliament."

Based on the partial survey calculation, Prabowo is only left behind Jokowi with 15 percent, which, according to Indra, can change in the next two months with Prabowo winning over Jokowi.

After the recapitulation, Golkar will hold a national leaders' meeting to determine the position of Aburizal Barkie in the presidential election.

Based on the result of the partial recapitulation from Tempo Team, out of a total of 510 seats in the parliament, Gerindra wins 66 seats, while PDI-P wins 98, followed by Golkar (98 seats), Democrat (59 seats), PAN (45 seats), PKS (40 seats), PKB (39 seats), PPP (39 seats), Nasdem (29 seats) and Hanura (13 seats).
