TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - There were 1,200 employees of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) demonstrating to reject the plan for the company's acquisition by PT Bank Mandiri. Other than rejecting the acquisition, BTN’s Trade Union chief, Satya Wijayantara, said they will sue State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Dahlan Iskan, because he is viewed to be capricious.
They will also report the minister to the Presidential Candidate Convention for his arbitrary action. As it is known, Dahlan is one of the participants in the convention representing the Democrat Party.
The demonstrators made an oration to reject the acquisition that they are concerned will lead to termination of employment. They have also set up banners stating rejection. Satya said the action was attended by employees from a number of provinces, from Aceh, East Java and South Sulawesi.
