TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Functional Group Party (Golkar) chairman Jusuf Kalla is yet to be declared as Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's vice presidential candidate, sources said. The declaration will be announced on Wednesday next week.

National Democratic Party's (NasDem) politician Akbar Faisal, via his twitter account, called on the public to support Jokowi and Kalla. NasDem and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) have decided to join in a coalition on Saturday to nominate Jokowi.

However, PDI-P has not confirmed any decision regarding Kalla's position, despite his name is being included on the list of possible vice president candidates. Other names included in the list are former Army chief Ryamizard Ryacudu, former Constitutional Court chief Mahfud Md., Jakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Hatta Rajasa and National Awakening Party chairman Muhaimin Iskandar.

PDI-P's provincial executives had agreed on Tuesday, that PDI-P chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri and Jokowi, have the right to select the vice presidential candidate.
