TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Bekasi administration will conduct raids to check ID and residential documents of foreign migrants in its area. The Head of Resident Registration and Mobility of Bekasi Civil Service Office, Meman Sulaeman, said that many foreign migrant workers in industrial areas have no temporary resident permits. "Currently there are 900 to 1,000 migrants in Bekasi," Meman said on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
According to Meman, the actual number is significantly higher. In Lippo Cikarang and Jababeka, for example, almost all business owners and executives are migrants. "The number may be thousands," Meman added.
Meman explained that Bekasi administration will conduct raids to collect data about foreign migrants who are working and living in the industrial areas. The data then will be used as a basis to issue Domicile Letters (SKTT).
