TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo is slated to inaugurate 117 high school (SMA) and 63 vocational school (SMK) principals on Friday, March 21, 2014.
Prior to installing them, Jokowi called on the would-be principals to work all out. “We want to have the best principals,” he said.
Similar to the district and sub-district heads the Jakarta administration obtained from its auction scheme, these principals will be evaluated every six months. “If their performances are not satisfying, they will be replaced,” he said.
The principals are the results of a second auction organized by the city administration as fraud was detected in the first one. Only around 30 percent of all participating SMA principals passed the selection, while that of the SMK principals saw a better result with 70 percent.
