MRT Jakarta Named as Best Infrastructure Project

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - World Finance magazine has selected Jakarta's Mass Rapid Transit project as one of the best infrastructure project in the world. According to World Finance' s Chief Editor of Project Finance Dustin Broadbery, MRT Jakarta was selected because it is one of most important projects for Jakarta and Indonesia.
World Finance considered that MRT Jakarta and the Jakarta administration have been doing well in addressing challenges related to the project. The initial construction stages have also run well.
President Director of MRT Jakarta Dono Boestami, acknowledged the pivotal role of the mass transportation mode. He said that the MRT project can be the pioneer of similar projects in other cities.
"Domestic and international markets will believe that Indonesia is capable in running this type of project," he said.
