TEMPO.CO, Seoul - Indonesian women's doubles Nitya Krishinda Mahewari/Greysia Polii becomes the only Indonesian representative to march to the Korean Open semifinal. The unseeded Indonesian double has tackled down seventh-seeded Chinese double Ma Jin/Tang Yuanting at the quarter final 21-18, 5-21, 21-13 yesterday.
With the victory, Nitya/Greyia are now preparing to defend Indonesia's pride against fifth-seeded from China Bao Yixin/ Tang Jinhua on the next semifinal today. Indonesia has sent some of its elite shuttlers to the tournament but most of them had been defeated at the qualification rounds. Indonesian best shuttler Tommy Sugiarto, for example, was defeated by unseeded Tian Houwei from China at early rounds.
