SBY Inaugurates the New Bali Mandara Toll Road

TEMPO.CO, Nusa Dua – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono officially inaugurated a new toll road that connects Nusa Dua with Ngurah Rai Benoa, Bali, on Monday, September 23. He named the new toll road as the 'Bali Mandara Toll Road'.
"Bali Mandara [means] the amazing Bali. The safe, peaceful, and prosperous Bali," Yudhoyono said.
according to Yudhoyono the new toll road will pose a special appeal to tourists and will be a new tourism icon in Bali.
"This toll road also acts as a supporting infrastructure for the APEC Summit which will be held [in Bali] on October," the President said.
Minister of Public Works Djoko Kirmanto said that the toll road was constructed to reduce traffic jam, support other transportation and tourism infrastructures, provide easier access to the Ngurah Rai Airport, accomodate the flow of goods and services, and to stimulate regional economic growth.
