TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - JK Rowling surprisingly announced that she will soon write a screenplay that is related to the Harry Potter universe. The phenomenal author has produced eight Harry Potter movies together with Warner Bros Studio. But instead of making another sequel or prequel, Rowling's new story will be a spin-off of the witch and wizardry universe.
The film is adapted from Rowling's character named Newt Scamander, an author's fictional book from the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie will tell a story that happened 70 years before Harry Potter's story gets underway.
"The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films," said Rowling, in a statement.
Rowling's first-ever screenplay is expected to be the first of a series of new films about the wizarding world that fans know well from the Potter books and movies.
