TEMPO.CO, Cilegon - Cilegon City Administration sets to build Warnasari Port, a 45-hectare project that will cost Rp. 600 billion (around US$55,68 million). "Everybody knows Cilegon has no natural resources except the sea. It can be used for the sake of the city's welfare," said Cilegon Mayor Tubagus Iman Ariyadi.
Although a permit for the port is yet to be issued, the city administration decided to move forward and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Samudera Indonesia for the construction of the port.
Samudera Indonesia CEO Masli Mulya said that his company is committed to finish the construction by 2015. The port is predicted to be larger than the Samudera Palaran port located in Samarinda.
