TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said Trans Sumatra Toll Road project is delayed due to land acquisition, despite the fact that it is due to begin in September this year.
Trans Sumatra needs around 2,700 kilometers of land. Djoko said to have suggested Hutama Karya to finish the land acquisition quickly. He is optimistic that it will go out smoothly with less trouble since most of the lands belong to government’s plantations.
Trans Sumatra will connect big cities from Nangroe Aceh Darussalam to Lampung, costing Rp360 trillions. There will be four main corridors namely Lampung-Palembang, Palembang-Pekanbaru, Pekanbaru-Medan, and Medan-Banda Aceh.
