TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Great Sale Festival 2013 offers a new concept of shopping, that is Morning Sale. "We try this new breakthrough. So visitors can shop before work or other activities," said Handaka Santosa, Head of Jakarta Great Sale 2013 Commitee at Kota Kasablanka, Saturday June 1.

Handaka plays secretive as when the morning sale is going to be held, saying "Definitely on June 21. We are going to have a simultaneous midnight sale at all malls," he said.

The event will be held for more than a month, starting June 1 until July 14, 2013. "There are many special discounts. The participating retailers have been preparing for this event for more than seven months. So new products also get discounts," said Handaka.

The committee is in cooperation with 74 shopping malls spread out around Jakarta. Not only offering discounts, the sale also offers gifts to visitors such as shopper cards for every Rp 250,000 and visitors can also collect points from those shopper cards and stand a chance to win a car of VW Touran.

Because of the annual 'cheap shopping' event, Jakarta provincial government managed to increase its revenue for twenty percent last year. "On trading sector, yes, it increased for twenty percent. Besides thate, the government also managed to increase its revenue from entertainment, parking and restaurant taxes.
