Project Disrupts Lembar and Padangbai Port

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta : Transport activities at Lembar port, West of Lombok had been disrupted in the past 10 days as the port was installing a new docking equipment. Trucks and vehicles have to spend about four days in line to get ferried to Padangbai port in Bali.

The installation of new four posts to tie vessels at the dock have prolonged the loading and unloading activities in Lembar Port by 15-20 minutes. The project have affected Padangbai Port in Bali. Trucks carrying crops heading for Surabaya were stranded at Lembar port, while in Padangbai Port trucks carrying supplies to Lombok also stuck.

Vessels need approximately one hour and twenty minutes to travel between the ports and there were 17 daily boat trips between the ports. No report on when the project will be finished.
