Prabowo Hopes China-Indonesia Relation Can be Maintained

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto attended the 69th independence day commemoration of China at the Shangrilla Hotel Ballroom in Jakarta on Thursday night.
During that event, Prabowo deemed China an important country for Indonesia and urged to maintain a good bilateral relationship between the two in the future.
“China is important for Indonesia, that is why we must undergo a good relationship, we must improve the relations to a better level that can help both parties,” said Prabowo in a written statement on Thursday, September 27.
Prabowo further argued that Indonesia must set a mindset that a thousand friends are too few; one enemy is one too many.
Prabowo Subianto who attended the event with his group was welcomed warmly by Chinese Ambassador for Indonesia Xiao Qiang. The event was opened by singing China’s national anthem followed by the Indonesian national anthem.
