TEMPO.CO, Cirebon - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operation Area (Daop) 3 Cirebon, West Java, predicts the number of passengers during 2018 Eid day will increase by around 4.4 percent compared to 2017.

“KAI estimates the number of passengers will become 141,424 people and that is equal to an increase of about 4.4 percent,” said Public Relations Manager Daop 3 Cirebon, Krisbiyantoro on Monday, May 28.

In the transport period of 2017 Eid day, the total number of passengers using the train transportation mode was 135,517.

“To accommodate the people's need for the very high transport mode on Eid day, we provide 94 regular train travels passing through Daop 3 Cirebon (consisting of long-distance and medium-range trains),” he said.

Kris said that in welcoming the 2018 Eid Day holiday moment, KAI Daop 3 Cirebon will deploy all resources owned, ranging from facilities, infrastructure, and human resources to support the implementation of 2018 Eid day to be super successful.

The focus of Eid day transportation is on the safety factor. In addition, the safety and smoothness of train travel will be prioritized.

“In general, KAI stipulates the transport period of 2018 Eid day will occur for 22 days, starting from June 5 to June 26,” he said.
