Medana Bay Marina in Lombok Officially Set as International Yacht

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation officially set Medana Bay Marina in Medana Beach, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) as the international port for tourism boats or yacht.
The port operator company Wisata Alam Samudra has received the Ministerial Decree No. 567/2018 dated April 3, 2018. “This is a great news,” said NTB’s Transportation Agency Head Lalu Bayu Windia to Tempo, Monday, April 16.

This marina is the only seaport in NTB that handle the custom, immigration, quarantine, and port master of tourists. Lalu mentioned that the yachts from overseas to anchor at Medana Bay Marina previously have to go through 19 registered ports namely Tual Maluku, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara or Benoa Bali, among others.
The owner and President Director of Medana Bay Marina Ace Robin mentioned that North Lombok Mayor Najmul Akhyar has supported the permit issue. In addition, North Lombok is chosen to be the international trajectory ship since the area is near to the tourism destination Tiga Gili.
Medana Bay Marina which has six hectares of the bay and additional five hectares of land was built in 2009. Ace Robin stated the bay has welcomed 90 yachts per year on average.
