Asian Games 2018: Palembang Hotels Ready to Accommodate Guests

TEMPO.CO, Palembang - Indonesian Restaurants and Hotels Association (PHRI) of South Sumatra said there are currently 8,500 rooms from 45 one-star to five-star hotels in the Palembang City to serve participants and guests of the Asian Games in August 2018.
The number of rooms prepared to deal with the surge in demand for hotel services continued to be added, said PHRI South Sumatra chairman Herlan Aspiudin.

According to Herlan, to anticipate the increasing number of guests before the opening and during the Asian Games, took several months to add rooms by pushing the completion of some new hotels and developing the old hotel rooms.
Through such effort, it is expected for the whole group of participants and guests can serve them well, he said.
He said that the development of new hotels and the addition of hotel rooms at the existed hotels that have been done in the past few years have been running well.
"Therefore, we are optimistic that we'll be able to add 3,000 hotel rooms to support Palembang as the 2018 Asian Games host," Herlan added.
