Fire in Pasar Baru: A Nearly Century Age Store Burned Down

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fierce fires raged in Pasar Baru area, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday evening, February 27. The fire burned down Isardas textile shop wildly with nothing to be saved.
A former employee of Isardas store Sukirno said the textile shop had been established since 1929. "So it (the shop) is now 89 years old," said the 38-year-old man who claimed to had worked there for 10 years.
Sukirno explained the shop was founded by a man of Indian descent named Isardas. The name of the founder was then used as the store name.
The textile store is currently run by Isardas's grandson, Haris as the Isardas third-generation owner. The store sells textile materials and provides tailor-made services for men suits.
Up until this news written, Tempo has yet met the shop owner for detailed information of losses number caused by the fire.
