Breaking News: Fire Breaks at Pasar Baru Textile Market

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fire broke at Central Jakarta`s Pasar Baru market on Tuesday, February 27. The fire began to spread and engulf the area, Jakarta`s oldest textile market, at 17:04 local time.
The Central Jakarta Firefighter and Rescue Office said that as of 17:54 the fire was still blazing. Twenty seven fire trucks were deployed to the area.

“We are still trying to put out the fire,” the office’s section chief Ahmad Sanjaya said.
No reports yet on what caused the fire in the first place, or the number of damaged shops and other buildings.
At the time of this publication, firefighters were still trying to put out the fire.
