TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) former speaker Setya Novanto claimed he did not know about the procurement of monitoring satellites and drones project at the Maritime Security Board (Bakamla). Setya also denied his involvement in the Bakamla bribery case.
"I have never had anything to do with Bakamla. Why always bring out my name; that is very evil," he said before the trial at the Corruption Court, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 25.
Setya Novanto's name was mentioned during a witness hearing for the Bakamla's Chief of Planning and Organization Nofel Hasan. Managing Director of PT Rohde and Schwarz Erwin Arif said that Setya involved in the procurement of monitoring satellites and drones project at Bakamla.

During the trial, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor opened the conversation with members of the Golkar Party Faction Fayakhun Andriadi who said that he met some people, one of them was SN.
When the prosecutor asked who SN was, Erwin replied, "I actually do not know SN, [but] I suspect [it is] Setya Novanto because it was involving Golkar."
Setya felt his name was defamed following the report. He did not answer when journalists asked him if he would testify for Nofel Hasan in the next trial.
"I do not know the Bakamla affairs, I do not understand, I do not know, I have never connected," said Setya Novanto.
