Bali Sees 48 Percent Increase in Indian Tourist Arrivals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 243,638 tourists from India visited Bali from January to November 2017. The record reveals a 48.25 percent increase (79,283 people) compared to the same period in 2016 at 164,345 tourists.
“The majority of them traveled by plane directly from their country and landed at Ngurah Rai airport. Meanwhile, 1,506 of them used a cruise ship,” said Bali’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Head Adi Nugroho on Tuesday, January 16.

Adi revealed that India ranks third as a country with the most tourist visiting in Bali after China and Australia.
In terms of the growth of tourist visit to Bali, India ranks second after China with 1,374,320 people which saw a 51.52 percent increase compares to the same period in the previous year. Tourists from India contributed 4.53 percent of Bali’s total number of the foreign tourist visit.
Adi said that the growth is driven by some similar elements shared in India and Bali, such as the art, tradition, and religion.
